Kim Leadbeater MP said to back the bill on the promise of High Court oversight—now that’s gone. A textbook case of bait-and-switch and the plan all along.
In Britain, the birth rate has collapsed, leading to an ageing population with too few fit young people to care for those elderly. As a result, the NHS and social services are unable to cope. The economy is also nearing collapse due to the ever-increasing need to support those who no longer work because of chronic illness. This is why the government is pushing to change the law to allow those who are not economic contributors to kill themselves.
The bill currently making its way through Parliament represents government policy. Although a private member’s bill, Keir Starmer backs the plan and has ordered that it be given plenty of time for debate in Parliament. The Labour government want to drastically reduce the number of sick and elderly people needing care, then, it’s just possible that the NHS and social services will survive. Although "Kill yourself, save the NHS" probably won’t make it onto a poster, that’s the mindset of those behind this chilling bill.
Bait and Switch
In an attempt to get the bill passed, Kim Leadbeater deceived the public by repeatedly lying about the safeguards it would include, claiming they would be both strict and world-class.
To get the bill through the first stage of the Commons, Leadbeater assured everyone that there would be strong safeguards. It would only apply to the terminally ill with less than six months to live. Each person would have to be examined by a psychiatrist, and a High Court judge would also be required to sign-off on every case of assisted suicide. Only then would a patient be eligible.
Kim Leadbeater said to back the Bill on the promise of those safeguards. But now that the Bill has actually passed the first stage, all of those safeguards have been removed. Leadbeater has come up with a whole host of 'reasons' why the safeguards won't any longer be in place. including not enough psychiatrists and a danger of High Court judges being 'overloaded' by the workload.
Make no mistake, this bill is not about compassion, it is about the government trying to balance the books and one way of doing that is to kill off the 'useless eaters.'
