Illegal Migrants Now Outnumber British Soldiers

Illegal migrant numbers now eclipse British Army’s available strength, sparking national security concerns.

The number of military-age males entering the UK illegally on small boats has now exceeded the total number of soldiers available to the British Army.

Home Office data reveals that In 2024, 36,816 were detected making the illegal small boat crossing. 2023 saw 45,755 individuals making the crossing, with 89% reportedly being men aged 18-40, according to Border Force data.

The Illegal Migration Act 2023, introduced on 7 March 2023, was designed to reduce illegal entries, but crossings have continued at record levels despite harsher penalties. Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, also noted an increase in arrivals from key transit countries such as Iran and Sudan.

Since 2018, when figures were first recorded, more than 150,000 people have entered the country illegally, a third of which are now unaccounted for.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence’s data, published in September 2024, confirmed the British Army’s lowest manpower level since its establishment, dropping from 82,000 in 2015 to its current 56,000.

That is a fighting force in total of just 56,000 now dwarfed by 150,000 migrant men, of fighting age, that have landed on UK shores illegally in small boats.

The stark contrast between the surge in illegal arrivals and the shrinking strength of the British Army underscores the madness of successive Governments.

Overwhelmingly, these young men are from Islamic countries, with ISIS, Hamas, and Hezbollah already boasting that they are using the small boat crossings to smuggle in fighters, this is now a threat to national security.
